This step is crucial - and it takes time
3. Drying
- Skip the spin cycle, instead gently press out excess water, no twisting or wringing - a wet, clumpy garment at this stage is normal
- Now lay flat on a drying rack to air dry a bit before putting in the dryer
- When mostly dry, toss it in the dryer with a few clean tennis or dryer balls. This helps bring back that fluffy loft
- Check in and fluff as it dries - every so often, pause and give it a little shake to distribute the down
- Once fully dry, give it a final shake and fluff
