I am interested in getting the Leila Women's Waterproof Down Coat. I did the measurements of my older packable down coat which is a small. When I compared the measurements with the waterproof coat, it seemed that a XS was the appropriate size. Would that be correct? Are the sizes different for different styles and would you say that the waterproof down coat is of a bigger sizing??
Thanks for your message. Our outerwear is sized differently dependant on whether layers are expectd to go under, and also whether the fit should be snug, or loose. The size guide is very good interpretation and is accurate - you will just need to determine how many layers you may wear under and if you need to upsize to relect that fit. Would you say that this coat is a larger sizing than the Arnie womens coat. I am wanting a coat to go over layers that is waterproof. They both appear to have the same warmth. In the Leila I seem to be an XL yet in the Arnie - for the hip measurement I am between a 2XL and a 3XL.

Hi, would this coat be suitable for travelling to Scotland in Winter? I am looking for a versatile coat that is light and rain and wind proof.

I have been looking for some time for a jacket to replace my current one because the zip is starting to break down. I am not usually keen to buy clothes online (unlike my children who do it all the time)....
I really liked the fit and feel of the Leila jacket and think your description, photos and video helped sway me.
There are a couple of things I'm not so keen on and feel that the jacket would be improved by....
Making the zip finish shorter than the hem of the jacket by about an inch rather finishing longer than the garment And having much more discreet/smaller zipper pulls, that would then NOT dangle below the hem of the garment. I find it difficult to explain this and hope it is clear?
Having and internal cuff attached to keep out draft and fit all wrist sizes rather than the current dome system.
I know these things are somewhat personal but I would prefer less shiny hardware too. Colour coordinated or dark hardware?

The colour of this jacket (teal) is stunning - it's a lovely bright colour but not garish. I purchased this for a trip to Norway next year because the sale price was just too good to pass up. It's not at all bulky so I hope it gives me the warmth I will need but reviews for warmth are very positive. I am tall so love the length, it will give me the coverage I need to keep dry in the event of rain.
I picked up this item from the post office yesterday and tried it on - it is quite a bit too big despite being labelled XS. it is the equivalent of a size 12 - I am size 8-10. I have agonized over whether I will return it because I specifically wanted down, packable and waterproof.
I am very disappointed and now feel I cannot trust your sizing. The reason for this is I have an XS long puffer coat which fits really well. But last year I purchased a lightweight rain jacket XS and if I do not have it zipped up it slips off, it is too big. I have a houndstooth jacket XS and it is just OK.
I am now faced with making a decision, I am not one bit happy with the size.
Great coat for Queenstown's mostly cold, sometimes wet, winters. Light enough to not feel like a marshmallow or overheat in the car. Heavy enough to stay warm and dry. You could call it the Goldilocks coat!

The jacket is surprisingly warm, considering how light it is. I love its ability to fold away into a very small packet—very travel-friendly. It’s a practical all-rounder that has not sacrificed style. Recommended.
I love my Leila coat! It is waterproof, beautifully comfortable, warm, very light and packable. I originally bought XL but it was too big, so changed it for a L (I am size 14 AUS and 173 cm tall). The L is still very roomy which I prefer for adding layers underneath. It is incredibly light - 600gm - but still keeps me very warm and packs to a small pillow. The outer fabric seems similar to the Georgie raincoat which I also have and love. It will be perfect for traveling when rain and cold weather is expected, doubling as a travel pillow.
Great coat, surprisingly warm for how light it is. It would be great if it had ribbed cuffs rather than the domes as they let in a draft and even better if it had a chest pocket for a phone etc.
The perfect lightweight but fully waterproof coat! Gorgeous colour and you can feel the quality. This is great for dog walks, early cool mornings and torrential downpours. Love it
Very happy with this warm and hopefully waterproof longer jacket. I have small wrists, so even with the 2 snap sleeve closures - the wrist band does not give a snug fit, and the sleeve is a bit long.
Love the 2 way zip, but don't like the way the lower zip tag hangs down - it does spoil the finished look of the coat.
Moke is a great make, and will be a wonderful addition to my winter wardrobe.
Needed a warm coat for a trip to Europe in Nov 26. I read the reviews about this coat, all of them helped me decide to purchase. I used the measurement guide to help me decide on which size to buy so I didn't have to return it. The guide was perfect, thankyou. Plenty of room to layer up.
After much research I purchased the Leila coat for a month long holiday through Italy, Sloviena and Switzerland in December.
The coat coped with temperatures down to -6, didnt weigh me down and had enough movement to be comfortable doing day hikes in the mountains and long enough to keep me warm when wandering around the cities.
I was surprised how warm the Leila was, I used a layering system of merino wool singlet & either long or short sleeved wool top and then a vest as the final layer before the coat. Gloves, scarf and finally a hat.
Although I have given this 5 stars, as it performed just as discribed by Moke, there are a couple of things that could be considered.
Zippers are slim and fine but are difficult to open with gloves on, so I kept having to take them off if I wanted something out of a pocket.
The addition of a chest pocket (inside or out) for a phone or credit card and cash would be great, rather than having to open my cross bag all the time.
We had some light rain one day, the seams didnt leak but the coat was a bit cold and damp inside and would not cope with heay rain.
I would recommend this to anyone doing a similar trip, it packs down easily into the bag and doesn't take up much room, its liteweight, copes with damp but not wet conditions, somehow manages to still smell fresh after a month of daily activies that sometimes had me sweating.
Hopefully when it get cold it's as good as the old rain jacket moke jacket. I hope it is warmer than my clarie jacket that is rated -10 because at 2 degrees I was freezing.
I am very happy with my first Moke coat. It is well made, the colour is lovely, and the coat feels cosy without being bulky. The sizing information was excellent. I chose to go up a size for this raincoat, to ensure a good fit when wearing a puffer vest or several layers underneath, as I bought the coat for a holiday in Scandinavia. It packs down beautifully for travel - taking up very little space and weight. This was an exceptionally good buy during your sale, and delivery was within the expected time frame. Thank you!
It has been chosen for a Christmas trip to the UK and Canada for which it will be invaluable, but I also expect to have good wear of it in NZ. An excellent fit for keeping out the weather.
